Although this song was written a long time ago, it has multiple meanings like most things. Number one and most importantly, it’s about a person losing their child and the irreplaceable hole in your heart you live with every day after. It will put your life in perspective every time you put it on. It was also amazing that when hearing this song for the first time and realizing that the child’s name is in fact Gabriel and the cover is based on a biblical painting of Archangel Gabriel slaying Satan, it was a no brainer that we wanted this song on our cd and have this story heard by those willing to listen.
In March of 2007 my wife asked me to write a song for our baby we were expecting. This is the song that was written. Our son was stillborn on July 10th 2007. This was recorded the night before his funeral and played in his honor during the service. Thank you to Grant and the band for including it.
For Gabriel Michael Shurtleff
You don’t know me; I don’t know who you’ll be
I’ll just have to wait, I’ll just have to wait and see
Maybe you’re like your mother or maybe you’re like me
Or like your brother or maybe you’re all three
We’re all waiting, to hold you in our arms
We’re all waiting to hear you sing, your new song
Your eyes will see a world, a world we’ll never know,
But we’ll watch you as you grow

this album absolutely rips. this is what I would call epic thrash. it has that old school sound but sounds very fresh at the same time. definitely worth supporting, I had to buy the CD for my collection, I couldn't not. I don't even care if it's quote "Christian metal", the music is so damn good. maybe, GOD damn good. I hope these guys keep making heavy ass metal 🤘🏻 big_pete666
